Courage!

courage

Hi, welcome back!

In this post, I continue with my series of posts on beckoned to walk on water(Beckoned to walk on water!). Last Thursday I talked about tossed about by the waves of the lake that was carrying the disciples to the other side of the lake (Tossed about by the waves!). Today, I’ll share with you, “Courage!” in the context of God’s Word.

Matthew 14 25-27 (GNT)

25 Between three and six o’clock in the morning Jesus came to the disciples, walking on the water. 26 When they saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost!” they said, and screamed with fear27 Jesus spoke to them at once. “Courage!he said. “It is I. Don’t be afraid!”

As mentioned previously in Blog Post 2: Tossed about by the waves!, the Lord is coming but are you prepared for Him? Will you recognise him when he comes [just like a ghost walking on the water]?

Will you recognise Him, if He comes walking on the stormy water today?

This is the big question!…

Would you recognise him when he comes walking on your troubles, difficulties, and pain today?

Would you know who He is in your midst?

This is the big question among even us, Christians who follow him as our guardian.

Enquire from your heart if you would know who He is, in His element state?

The disciples were terrified when he revealed the other side of Him to them. They have walked with Him for this while, ate and shared bread with him, but they did not really know his other side. They knew his human side but not the spiritual side to him. They were terrified when they saw him, and screamed with fear, because they thought they had seen a ghost. Clarify with me, were these not the same disciples who walked with him? Who did they think they were walking with? Because it amazes me how Peter soon turned around and said “Save me, Lord!” (Matthew 14 30).

They have just broken bread with him, a minute ago and now they are crying for help because they think they have seen a ghost? Which side of the Word did they see? Let the Word of the Lord live in your heart, so that you will see him when he comes walking on that troubled water. He is no ghost, but the Son of God who lives in the Father and the Father in Him – Trinity: God in 3 Persons [the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit].

John 14 9-11

Jesus answered, “For a long time I have been with you all; yet you do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. Why, then, do you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe, Philip, that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I have spoken to you,” Jesus said to his disciples, “do not come from me. The Father, who remains in me, does his own work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. If not, believe because of the things I do.

COURAGE!

Take that fear out of your heart.

“Courage” means:

  • The power or quality of dealing with or facing danger, fear, pain, etc.
  • The quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear.
  • The strength in the face of pain or grief.

Courage with an exclamation mark (!) – direct speech that represents something shouted or spoken very loudly.

What does “the quality of mind or spirit” mean? The quality of your mind or spirit depends on the Word of God in you. The quality of your faith in Him.

Dealing with the fear…

Luke 10 19 says;

19 Listen! I have given you authority, so that you can walk on snakes and scorpions and overcome all the power of the Enemy, and nothing will hurt you.

God has given us the power to live as a child of God. To live within His Word and His Word only – no wavering of faith.

God has given you courage in your life in what you do. Love the Lord with all your heart and all your being. Do not change, because the end is near! Difficult times are coming and you need to be in His Word to survive it.

In Joshua 1 5-9 ,we see God commanding Joshua on Three separate occasions to be “determined and confident”. We see Joshua being given the authority to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land by God. You are about to cross the River Jordan to the other side, but you need the power and the authority from the Father in Heaven to do so. After receiving the Authority and Power, Joshua, and all the people embarked on the journey to the fruitful land.

In order to embark on the journey, they need the authority and the power to do so. Authority and Power becomes dominant and prevails every time you talk about destiny. We possess this Power and Authority through the Holy Spirit; the Spirit of God. This is the power and authority we need to cross the stormy water to the other side.

Acts 1 8

But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power, and you will be witnesses for me in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

  • Authority is accessed through the word “faith”. You cannot have authority without faith. You should believe! Mark 9 14-24
  • Authority has been given to them who believe Mark 16 17-81. Believe in what? Believe in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

God has given us the authority and power in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ. What are you doing with your authority? God has given us the authority to cross or overcome all boundaries;

  • The Red sea
  • The Rock [for spring water]
  • River Jordan
  • The walls of Jericho [to dance around it]
  • To come out of Egypt
  • Possess the Promised Land

Do not be discourage! Come to the Lord, just as you are – divided and do not know what to do. He will hold your hand and lead you to His storehouse.

Believe in His Word and trust Him! Let the Lord enter you into His house as He has laid a table before you. He will cherish you and bring you to His presence.

Understand His Word! Live in Him! At the End, His glory will shine on you.

God has given you the authority/power through His Word, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. He has chosen you for a reason; listen to His Word and it shall be well with you.

It is I…

His daily bread would be your guidance. Come to him through his daily bread, He will lead you to his throne room. Divide not yourself among the brethren, but divide the bread (Before the storm!)that He has given you among yourselves to grow in His Word.

Divide not yourself among your brethren, but share the Word of God among yourselves. Cherish the Word!

Do not linger on the importance of yourself!

Luke 22 17-19

Do not teach on provision, because I, the Lord, I am the provider [the dividend]!

“Dividend” means:

  • (Mathematics) a number or quantity to be divided by another number or quantity.

Jesus says He is the best dividend. When you divide Him by any number, He is more than enough. He can reach all. He is the integral number that divides all.

In division (mathematics) we see the relationship between the dividend, divisor, quotient and remainder. The number which we divide is called the dividend [Jesus Christ]. The number by which we divide is called the divisor [5 loaves & 2 fish]. The result obtained is called the quotient [5000 men]. The number left over is called the remainder [12 baskets full of leftovers].

Integer

  • A complete thing: whole number
  • A thing complete in itself

Meaning: – I am the Integral[necessary to make a whole complete]. I am the complete integral, the One and Only true God. The integral in your life, I make you complete. I am the whole number in your life.

Jesus spoke to them at once. “Courage!” he said. “It is I. Don’t be afraid!” – Matthew 14 27

Jesus is saying, “Courage!” in every thing that you do and in every storm that you are in. He is with you! Put on the full armour of God and at all times carry the Word of God as a sword Ephesians 6 10-18. You have the authority over the enemy. Know who you are in the LORD and let your authority play its role. He is the I am that I am. Jesus is more than enough in our lives. He is the author and finisher of our faith. Believe in His Word; have His Word live in your heart. You have the Word of God in you, let Him live through you with His authority.

Living through you, comes the authority!

Jesus is the Word of God!

COURAGE!

I pray that God’s Word touches your heart and make great impart on you. May He live through you as you open your heart to Him and teach you who He really is. May the Lord be with you! Amen.

  5. I’m amazed, I have to admit. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s both equally educative and amusing, and without a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The problem is something too few folks are speaking intelligently about. I’m very happy that I found this during my search for something regarding this.

    1. Thank you for your comment, Pearlene. It is very encouraging. I pray that I can continually touch the lives of people with my gift. God bless you.
