Unravelling the horns of the ram

Abraham looked around and saw a ram caught in a bush by its horns. He went and got it and offered it as a burnt offering instead of his son. – Genesis 22:13

Hi Everyone, welcome back!
In continuation of my previous post [A Ram Caught In A Bush By Its Horns], where I talked about God providing Abraham with a ram to sacrifice instead of Isaac, his son but the ram provided is caught in a bush by its horns. Abraham has to go to where the ram is, unravel its horns, fetch it and offer it as a burnt sacrifice to God. Today, I’ll share with you, “Unravelling the horns of the ram” in the context of God’s Word.

The sacrificial lamb has been provided, but it is locked in a bush by its horns. The vision of this sacrificial lamb has been given to John in the Book of Revelation [Rev. 1:9-20].

How do you bring this ram to the sacrificial table?
“Unravelling the horns of the ram” is a journey to be made, and in Abraham’s case; it was Isaac who made that journey.

  • Undo (twist, knitted, or woven threads)
  • (of twisted, knotted, or woven threads) Become undone.
  • To separate and clarify the elements of (something mysterious or baffling); Solve
  • To explain or solve
  • Synonyms: solve, explain, work out, resolve, interpret, make out, undo, separate, disentangle, free, and untangle.

How do you let out its horns to free the ram for the burnt offering?
The answer to this question lies within Genesis 22:13.
Abraham has to;

  1. Go to where the ram has been caught
  2. Get it – release the caught horns
  3. Offer it as a burnt offering

He sacrificed the ram instead of his son, Isaac.

Looking at the Covenant between God and Abraham…
“No longer shall your name be Abram (exalted father), but your name shall be Abraham (father of a multitude); For I will make you the father of many nations. – [Genesis 17:1-5 AMP]

Covenant by Circumcision

9 Further, God said to Abraham, “As for you [your part of the agreement], you shall keep and faithfully obey [the terms of] My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. 10 This is [the sign of] My covenant, which you shall keep and faithfully obey, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. – Gen 17:9-10 AMP

19 But God said, “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed, and you shall name him Isaac (laughter); and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant and with his descendants after him. – Gen 17:19 AMP

21 But My covenant [My promise, My solemn pledge], I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this time next year.” – Gen 17:21 AMP

Now Abraham has birthed Isaac and Isaac is in the covenant, so should Isaac descendants in order to fulfil Genesis 17:19. Sacrificing Isaac means the end to that worship of obedience and faithfulness to God (no descendants will come out of Isaac) that has evolved from Abraham. But this worship has to evolve to produce the perfect worship, which is Jesus Christ. Abraham has to find the descendants for Isaac; to follow the worship of Isaac which has been birthed out of his worship of obedience and faithfulness (Gen 17:1).

And with Isaac, his entire descendant should worship Him as their God, and then He will establish His covenant with them forever. This is quiet a journey to make; getting the descendants of Isaac to worship God through obedience and faithfulness. That is quiet a task!

In Abraham’s case, he cannot sacrifice Isaac without having the descendants of Isaac. So he had to reach inside Isaac to bring out the worship in him (to birth out that worship in him) and this has to be done through his seed. And his seed has to come from God because they follow a covenant link that God has made with Abraham. Where God promised Abraham an everlasting covenant through a son and his future generations which will be birthed to Abraham through Sarah at an appointment time [a season] and his name shall be Isaac.

How can this promise be true if no worship (children) comes out of Isaac and he is sacrificed?

That will be the end; so for what God has promised to come to pass and for the covenant to be established, Abraham had to make that journey into finding a wife for Isaac. This is  because Abraham is the one offering the sacrifice and not Isaac. So he made that journey into finding a wife [the church] for Isaac, the promised son. [Genesis 25:22]

A wife [Rebekah] was found, but the wife was also found to be barren [Genesis 25:21]. Eventually Rebekah became pregnant with twins and these twins [the 2 horns] fought so hard in her womb; a birth of two nations which will birth the descendants of this everlasting covenant. [Genesis 25:23].

Birthing the two worships…

Twins share the same womb and feed on the same nutrients, therefore share the same principles. Now, the problem is, the birthing of these twins of Rebekah will bring calamity to the world. So here is the church with its principles where two worships are going to be birth out it. Their principles look alike, but are different in God’s eyes. That is the church of today, the principles are changing to suit the world‘s.

So we have Esau born reddish all over like a hairy garment and grew up to be an able and skilled hunter, a man of the outdoors [Genesis 25:24-27]. Jacob was born with his hand grasping Esau’s heel, but Jacob was a quiet and peaceful man, living in tents.
Jacob came out of the true principles and Esau came out of the copied [simulated] principles. These worships are going to be birth from the same old religion in the church.

Who are you going to believe?

Two churches are going to be birthed out of Isaac; the church of Christ and the church of the Enemy (stimulated), but their principles will appear to be the same.

How can you tell God’s church from that of the enemy; they will all be the same due to their principles but one of them is not meant to be?

You have two principles birthing out of Rebekah; one believes in hunting for meat and the other believes in peace and lives in tents. Two different cultures birthing out of the church with the hope that everything will be okay, but is it? Isaac prayed to God for Rebekah to get pregnant and that prayer yielded two sons. These two sons are going to be the churches in the end; the churches being birth by Rebekah in aid of birthing the promised church of God [obedience and faithfulness], where the descendants of Isaac will worship God in truth and in spirit.

Abraham [the ultimate worship] has to go into these churches to bring them out of the deceit (Genesis 22:13). He reached into the churches and pull out the deceit inside; that is what we classify as the salvation of souls, because he has savage us from the hands of the enemy. He brought us out of the churches and placed us in God’s hands. He had to separate the God-ridden people from the God-forsaken people. He had to bring us out to worship the God Almighty.

We are in one with God. Birthing the church was not easy, but Christ went through what He went through for our sake; to bring us out of misery.

God reached inside Rebekah and brought the two worships out, one before the other and with the younger grasping the heel of the elder in relation. These worships are Esau and Jacob, but God eventually named Jacob as Israel and created a church within him. He brought out Jesus within Jacob’s worship.

God changed Jacob’s name to Israel because it is through him that God’s church will be birthed – the hammering of the pure gold into a lamp-stand with 6 branches feeding into the shaft of the lamp-stand. God had the 6 churches feeding into the main (shaft) church-to-come; the vision of Christ giving to the churches through John (Rev: 1-20). The vision of Oneness in God; that is the Menorah (Exodus 25:31-40).

You can read more about the Menorah in my upcoming book!

The aim of this “unravelling of the horns” is to bring the ultimate church out of Isaac, therefore the reason why Abraham had to sacrifice him in-order to establish the covenant with God; obedience and faithfulness all the time.

The pure gold is to be hammered into one single piece of item. The hammering of the pure gold is the journey that Esau and his brother Jacob made to achieve the 12 tribes of Israel. And out of Jacob lineage came Christ, the perfect worshipper. This tells you how the church is to be beaten down to form the perfect church that the Lord God wants from this gold.

The idea is for it to be worked on; hammered down to create the one church needed without tearing it apart and then putting them together. They are to be formed through unison and not division. That is the Oneness in God; all things to works together for those who love the Lord.

Now, you will have to hold the horns of the ram and bring it to the sacrificial table. You will have to defend yourself and fight for yourself to release the anointing that God has placed on you to be able to set yourself free from the bondage. You will have to find the ram with the horns caught in a bush; get it and offer it as a burnt offering to God.

God is telling the shepherds in the field to find the sacrificial lamb for themselves. The way of finding it, is by the instruction that God has given you in Book of Luke 2:12 “And this is what will prove it to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger”. This is the instruction to the shepherds in the field; therefore the clue as to whom His son is, in the midst of others.

[Luke 2 15:16 ]
The shepherds hurried to the land – Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph and saw the baby lying in the manger.

  • They found Mary and Joseph
  • But saw the baby

There is a distance between them leaving where they were in the field cultivating and them finding Mary and Joseph in the stable and seeing the baby in the manger. There is a gap between verses 15 and 16. Lots of things happened between these two points:

  • They arise & set off
  • And encountered the problems they did on their way to the manger. There were confrontations; that is why God said to release the horns of the ram caught in the bush
  • Found Mary & Joseph and saw the baby

Luke 2 17-18
17 When the shepherds saw him, they told them what the angel had said about the child.

  • They glorified his name.

18All who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said.

  • All who heard of what they have seen – That is the burnt sacrifice, by telling about the child. They took the ram and offered a burnt sacrifice to the LORD (Genesis 22:13). They took the word (the baby) they discovered and ministered onto people instead of their word (Isaac). The true Word of God was ministered onto people and not the word of the people.
  • They offered themselves as a living sacrifice to the LORD in order to achieve His aim and the LORD in his mercies brought them out of Bethlehem for their own country another way.
  • Fellowship is the word. Fellowship with the LORD!

Luke 2 19 (c.f. Genesis 22 13)
19 Mary remembered all these things and thought deeply about them.

Do not take your word upon the Word of God. He is the Master and what He says must be established. He is the master of the Universe and knows what He is doing, so His word should never be taken for granted. His word is always Yea and Amen! What he has said, will always come to pass. He has said it and He will surely do it.

There is a journey that has to be made before the ram will be unlocked from the bush to be offered as a sacrifice.

Look no further than the religion you are in. Is it what God has said, and is it what God has promised to happen? Because most religions are based on the word of man, but the church of the LORD is based on Christ.

Search within yourself and see if He is living through you or He just residing in you? Galatians 2:20

“lives” –  to show the characteristics of life; be alive
–  to remain alive or in existence

“resides” –  to live permanently or for a considerable time (in a place);  to have a settled abode for a time.

The Word of the Lord is great in all aspects and will live on forever. Praise the Lord!
